Director - Operations

Damien has over 25 years working within the insurance industry, with insurance knowledge and expertise that extends to dealing with the local insurance market, but also with the wider global insurance market including working in London, Vancouver and Dublin.

He has a knack for finding insurance products and solutions for those businesses with very niche or specialist scenarios that others in the industry often walk away from!

In addition to being a QPIB (Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker) and completing a Diploma of Financial Services (Broking) Damien holds a Bachelor of Commerce.

Director - Business Development

Scott founded Cornerstone Risk Management, before merging into Cornerstone Risk Group with his business partner Damien Mulvenna.

Scott has extensive experience in all areas of general insurance and is particularly interested and experienced in the agriculture and commercial space. He also heads up Mergers and Acquisitions’ activity for Cornerstone, working as a partner with both the Resilium and Ardonagh Global Partners businesses.

Away from work Scott is married with two young boys and a volunteer coach of his local women’s rugby team.

Laura has over 14 years’ experience within the insurance industry. The bulk of her industry experience comes from having worked in London as a Senior Underwriting Technician supporting insurance underwriters across most of Europe, Canada, America, and South America.

As the Operations Manager, Laura oversees the Brisbane and Toowoomba offices and assists with the integration of outside practices into Cornerstone.

Outside of work Laura enjoys climbing, hiking, cycling and recently completed an ISM Level 1 certificate in mountaineering.

An experienced Insurance Adviser with 20 years experience, Stephen started his insurance career with Suncorp, progressing to the commercial insurance division and gaining valuable insight into the inner workings of one of Australia’s largest general insurers.

In 2012 Stephen commenced his broking career with Austcover in Brisbane, managing a diverse portfolio of SME clients. In 2015 he started his own broking company, Hayes Insurance Services Pty Ltd and after seven successful years as director of Hayes Insurances Services, Stephen merged his business with the Cornerstone Risk Group in 2022. in 2024 Stephen was appointed Head of Broking for the Cornerstone Risk Group.

Rebecca started in the insurance industry during her time in the UK working for Cunningham Lindsey Loss Adjustors. On her return to Australia in 2008, Rebecca relocated into intermediary claims with QBE before moving into the broking world in 2011 as a broker assistant. In 2015, Rebecca took on an internal broker role managing a portfolio of SME and Domestic clients. Looking for a change and a challenge, Rebecca joined Total Insurance Agencies in 2020 as an account executive getting involved in their specialty, heavy transport insurance. This role has continued under the merger with Cornerstone Risk Group.

With over 16 years of experience in the insurance industry, Rebecca is happy to assist with any of your heavy transport, business or domestic insurance needs.

After initially being employed as the ‘filing’ lady, Sue quickly moved up the ranks to become a Personal Assistant. In 2016, she naturally progressed into the Account Manager role and loves meeting new people and also growing her knowledge in the insurance field.

Sue is a part of a large network group and enjoys their weekly meetings which provides the opportunity for potential clients.

Away from work, Sue has been the ‘front door’ lady for a local Dance Studio for the past 14 years and also enjoys a friendly spar at her local Muay Thai club.
